The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 invites applications for the position of Administrative Assistant, Environmental Services. The Administrative Assistant, Environmental Services provides high-level administrative and executive support to the General Manager, Environmental & Protective Services while maintaining confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the General Manager, Environmental & Protective Services.
  • Manage and maintain the General Manager’s calendar, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings.
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and other communications, ensuring timely responses.
  • Arrange and coordinate municipal meetings, events, and public engagements.
  • Prepare agendas, take minutes, and distribute meeting materials.
  • Conduct research and compile data to support decision-making.
  • Assist with general correspondence and follow-up actions items and deadlines.
  • Generate, review, and edit reports, memos, correspondence and other documentation for accuracy and grammatical usage.
  • Assist in planning and executing municipal programs and initiatives.
  • Serve as a point of contact between the General Manager and other government officials, agencies, and the public.
  • Maintain confidential records and municipal documents.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of the departmental administrative and project filing system to accurately store, manage, and retrieve documents.
  • Maintain office supplies and coordinate office logistics.
  • Perform other related duties within the scope of the position.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education preferably in business and administration.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ administrative experience, preferably in a municipal setting.
  • Previous experience as an executive assistant, administrative officer, or similar role will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and office management software.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers’ License in good standing.
