Job Purpose:

This job is to provide administrative support to Cold Lake First Nations FCSS department. Our goal is to promote healthy families and lend our support where applicable.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

•                     Greet visitors and answer any inquiries regarding the FCSS department

•                     Answer the telephone and appropriately direct the call or take messages

•                     Develop and maintain a filing system that will reflect correspondence and other special projects

•                     Make all travel arrangements, maintain the calendar, and prepare needed materials of the Director

•                     Ensure all clientele paperwork is up to date and recorded as needed.

•                     Must be able to access computer systems and facilitate data input

•                     Complete photocopying and faxing as requested

•                     Complete typing for all administrative areas and required by the staff of FCSS

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

•                     Must posses a willingness to earn a diploma or better in this area of expertise

•                     Must be able to type between 40-50 words per minute.

•                     The ability to effectively communicate (both written and verbal) in the English language.

•                     Self motivated and willing to work without direct supervision.

•                     Must have a pleasant personality and be able to handle high stress situations.

•                     Knowledge in crisis intervention and critical incident debriefing considered an asset.

•                     Knowledge of the Child Welfare Acts, Protection Against Family Violence Act and other acts that affect the FCSS clients considered an asset.

•                     Must be able to work cooperatively with other agencies.

•                     Must provide a criminal record check and a child welfare check.

•                     Must have a valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.

•                     A general knowledge of First Nations culture, government, languages, and community dynamics is an asset.

 

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

•                     Possible evening and weekend work

•                     Possibly working outdoors however will be mainly indoors

•                     Working with challenging clients

•                     Doing repetitive tasks with few breaks

•                     Regular hours of operation include Monday through Thursday from 08:30AM-04:30PM and Fridays from 08:30AM-02:00PM.
