Position Overview
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant to support the Chief Executive Director, Janet Gobert. This part-time position offers the possibility of transitioning to full-time and plays a critical role in managing day-to-day operations, financial processes, and community partnerships. The ideal candidate will have experience in human resources, budgeting, cash flow management, and working knowledge of SAGE accounting software.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and organizational support to the Chief Executive Director, including scheduling, meeting coordination, and communication management.
  • Assist with the preparation and management of budgets, financial reports, and cash flows; assist with maintaining accurate records using SAGE accounting software.
  • Support HR functions.
  • Assist with organizing and coordinating community events.

Coordinate efforts related to new initiatives, including our women’s shelter and transitional home projects.

  • Facilitate communication with key partners.
  • Ensure resources and supplies are managed effectively, contributing to the Centre’s Standards of Excellence.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in administration, finance, Indigenous studies, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in human resources, budget management, and cash flow processes.
  • Proficiency with SAGE accounting software.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
  • Familiarity with Indigenous culture and a strong commitment to supporting Indigenous communities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Experience in administrative support or as an executive assistant is an asset.


Compensation


$32.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on education and experience. Wage increase upon successful performance appraisal at completion of three month probationary period.
