Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced Controller to lead the financial operations of our dealership. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing accounting functions, financial reporting, internal controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee full-cycle accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations

Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Canadian GAAP

Maintain compliance with all federal and provincial tax regulations and reporting requirements

Manage month-end and year-end closing processes

Supervise and support accounting team members

Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and manufacturer partners

Monitor dealership expenses, cash flow, and financial performance

Recommend and implement internal control improvements

Work closely with department managers to support budgeting and forecasting
Qualifications:

Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field would be asset

Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the automotive retail industry

Strong understanding of dealership operations and financial controls

Experience with dealership management systems Quorum Xsellerator or Dealertrack is an asset but not necessary

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills

Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
