Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced Controller to lead the financial operations of our dealership. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing accounting functions, financial reporting, internal controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee full-cycle accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Canadian GAAP
  • Maintain compliance with all federal and provincial tax regulations and reporting requirements
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Supervise and support accounting team members
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and manufacturer partners
  • Monitor dealership expenses, cash flow, and financial performance
  • Recommend and implement internal control improvements
  • Work closely with department managers to support budgeting and forecasting

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field would be asset
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the automotive retail industry
  • Strong understanding of dealership operations and financial controls
  • Experience with dealership management systems Quorum Xsellerator or Dealertrack is an asset but not necessary 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
