Location: Bonnyville, AB

Lakeland Catholic School Division is seeking a visionary and strategic leader for the position of Deputy Superintendent of System Excellence . Reporting directly to the Superintendent of Schools, this senior leadership role will focus on overseeing, coordinating, and driving excellence in student programming, curriculum implementation, and education assurance planning, while also supporting key HR processes and adherence to Division Administrative Procedures. The Deputy Superintendent will demonstrate and model commitment to the Catholic faith.

The ideal candidate will be expected to start on May 1, 2025 .

Required Education and Recommended Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience

  • Active engagement in a Catholic community parish.
  • Possess a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
  • A Master's Degree in an education-related field from a recognized university.
  • Valid Leadership Quality Standard (LQS) certification.
  • Superintendent Leadership Quality Standard (SLQS) certification, or currently in the process of obtaining it.
  • A certificate or diploma in Human Resources Management would be considered an asset.
  • At least five years of cumulative experience in educational leadership roles, such as school administrator, director, associate superintendent, or assistant superintendent.
  • Proven success in driving curriculum initiatives, program development and implementation.
  • Extensive knowledge in literacy and numeracy instruction and assessment practices across grades K12.
  • Strong ability to leverage data for school improvement and strategic decision-making.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Alberta's provincial education standards, curriculum regulations, and integrating Catholic values in teaching.
  • In-depth understanding of education assurance planning, including development, implementation, and reporting.
  • Knowledge and experience with the Annual Education Results Report (AERR) process, including data analysis, alignment with strategic goals, and engaging stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge with Human Resources policies, procedures, and best practices within an educational context.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with a focus on supporting school leaders and fostering a positive, student-centered educational environment.
