Reports To: Public Works Manager
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Public Works Foreman or his designate, the employee in this position performs duties related to the operation of vehicles & equipment as required, in order to maintain First Nations infrastructures.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
· A valid Class 3 Alberta Driver's License and Alberta Air Brake certification.
· Experience in and the ability to perform all the duties outlined above.
· The ability to maintain harmonious relationships with all members of the public, and other staff members.
· The ability to complete duties in a safe manner, following established safety rules & regulations.
· Completion of Grade 12 education, OR, a combination of education and relevant experience.
· Physical agility and the ability to complete duties requiring physical effort.
· First Aid training, CPR and other safety training programs.
· Experience in a municipal public works field.
· Class 1 - A Class 1 Equipment Operator is capable of and qualified to operate most of the Band equipment.
· Class 2 - A Class 2 Equipment Operator is capable of and qualified to operate most of the municipal equipment, including the grader and\or large backhoe.
· Class 3 - A Class 3 Equipment Operator demonstrates competence at and is qualified to operate all band equipment.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
· Regular evening and weekend work
· Shift work
· Working outdoors
· Working with challenging clients
· Lifting heavy objects on a regular basis
· Doing repetitive tasks with few breaks
