The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 invites applications for the position of Equipment Operator I. The Equipment Operator I is responsible for performing semi-skilled and skilled equipment operation on a variety of specialized light and heavy equipment to facilitate the construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, and rights-of-ways within the M.D. of Bonnyville.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment and perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Follow all procedures for safe and efficient operation of equipment.
- Advise supervisor of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
- Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored.
- Prepare equipment, work code, timecards, and pre-trip equipment inspection forms, including the posting of equipment hours, fuel, oil etc.
- Perform all essential functions of manual labour and other related duties within the scope of the position as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Hold a valid Class 1 and/or Class 3 Driver’s License in good standing.
- Equipment operator experience considered an asset.
- Ability to work in a team environment or independently with minimal supervision.
- Must possess basic mechanical skills.
