The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 invites applications for a full-time Equipment Operator II. The Equipment Operator II is responsible for operating all heavy equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate all heavy equipment which includes but is not limited to, graders, trucks and pups, excavators, and crawlers.
- Transport equipment and ensure proper cargo securement.
- Operate a grader to remove snow, level roads, and ensure proper drainage.
- Ensure access to houses, businesses, water sources, and waste sites.
- Maintain easements, roads, and transportation systems ensuring safe conditions.
- Perform pre-winter, spring, and summer maintenance on roads.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks while also maintaining equipment inventory.
- Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
- Clean equipment as scheduled and/or as needed.
- Advise the Transportation Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
- On call rotation and night shifts may be required.
- Perform other related duties within the scope of the position as required.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent equipment operator experience to meet the requirements of the duties and responsibilities.
- Hold a valid class 1 driver’s license in good standing and/or a Heavy Equipment Operator’s Journeyman Certificate.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience preferred.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Must provide a Criminal Record Check with satisfactory results.
