What role you will play in our team



Are you motivated to join Imperial as an Engineering Student? If you are passionate about safety, building positive relationships, and working within a strong team environment, then we have the role for you! We currently have an opportunity within our Operations team.



What you will do



  • Trouble shooting and consulting on facility design and operating problems, working directly with operations and maintenance personal
  • Prepare engineering designs using industry code and company standards for facility upgrades and replacement in kinds of piping, pumps, and all other process equipment.
  • Perform studies on enhancement opportunities, finalize studies with engineered design packages for execution
  • Provide engineering guidance on execution of facility upgrades, work directly with maintenance group and contractors
  • Direct mentorship under professional engineers

About you



Skills and Qualifications



  • Studying to achieve a BSc Engineering degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited University in Canada 
  • Currently enrolled in a University Engineering program and returning to full-time studies after the work term
  • Your most recent unofficial transcript(s) must be submitted with your application


Preferred Qualifications/ Experience



  • A valid driver’s license required
  • Previous industry experience is considered beneficial, but not essential
  • Commitment to safety on and off the job
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that enables you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team-based environment
  • Work schedule: Full-time position


Start date: January 2025



Location: Cold Lake, AB



Work Term: 12 to 16 months preferred
