We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team and maintain our fleet of heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
Position Overview:
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic with Superior, you will play a vital role in keeping our fleet in top working condition. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and equipment used in the transportation of oil rig components. Your work will help ensure the safety and reliability of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and other specialized equipment.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and determine appropriate repair methods.
Complete preventive maintenance to ensure equipment is operational and compliant with safety standards.
Conduct CVIP inspections on commercial vehicles to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
Work collaboratively with other mechanics and operators to ensure all vehicles and equipment are in optimal condition.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic License (mandatory).
CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) Certification (mandatory).
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy-duty mechanic, preferably in the oil and gas or transportation industry.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to work independently.
Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical systems on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Valid driverβs license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with oil rig hauling equipment (Winch Tractors/Bed Trucks Etc.).
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as required.
