POSITION SUMMARY:
MasTec Canada is accepting resumes for a Journeyman/Lead Insulator, with an anticipated start date in early February, 2025 until January, 2026, to join its Industrial Division in support of executing projects near Bonnyville, Alberta.
This is a camp based role, on a rotational schedule with 8 days on, 6 days off and 14 days on and 7 days off, 12 hour shifts (shift travel will be provided). Candidates will be required to use their own transportation to get to pick up points. The transportation will be provided to the site from pick up points.
Note, this is a project-specific hire with potential for longer term work pending successful future project awards. Consideration will be given to local and non-local talent.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements and select the type of insulation required
Measure and cut insulating material to required dimensions using hand and power tools
Apply and secure insulation using spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, taping, and other application and installation methods
Fit insulation around obstructions and between studs and joists
Installation of vapour barriers
Fabricate metal sheets and apply insulating materials to finish surfaces
Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Valid Class 5 driverโs license and current clean drivers abstract (5 years) is required
Must be clean shaven
Must have original copies of tickets and available to present upon request
Strong communication (both verbal and written) and teamwork skills are required
Excellent manual dexterity, with the ability to easily perform intricate and precise actions
Ability to understand how mechanical systems work and how to operate and maintain machinery effectively
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is required
Good hand-eye coordination is required
Ability to follow instructions and make good decisions is required
Must have an acute awareness of surroundings including under, above and around you
