Jardeg Construction is recruiting Insulator Journeypersons & Apprentices to join the Quinn Constructors LTD. Turnaround team at the NOVA Chemicals site in JOFFRE, Alberta. Come be a part of an outstanding team working with industry leaders that have been executing work at the Joffre site for over 20 years. This Turnaround is starting immediately going to November 22nd. 6/1 rotation to start, switching to 5 days on, 2 days off rotation.


NOVA Chemicals Joffre manufacturing facility is located just east of Red Deer, Alberta, and is one of the largest ethylene and polyethylene production complexes in the world. The site consists of five manufacturing facilities: three for ethylene production and two for polyethylene production.


As an Insulator at NOVA, you will apply, remove and repair thermal and acoustical insulation (e.g., calcium silicate, glass foam, mineral wool, Styrofoam, fiberglass) on all types of industrial equipment (e.g., duct piping, heat exchangers, tanks, vessels).


$125 LOA will apply for those living outside the 85km radius.


As an Insulator, you will:

  • Demonstrate the installation, fitting, fabrication and attachment of insulation, finishing and weatherproofing materials to a high standard of workmanship.
  • Measure and cut insulating material to required dimensions using hand and power tools.
  • Install soundproofing systems; recognize insulation and air barrier systems, materials and their application.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Insulator certification or proof of Journeyperson level hours.
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS-2020) Certification.
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space Entry & Monitor.
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Arrest and/or Fall Protection.
  • Proven experience as a Journeyperson Insulator, preferably in a heavy industrial or construction setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of materials, tools and installation techniques used as a Scaffolder.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and independently as required.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and project stakeholders.
  • Satisfactory completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test.
