The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 invites applications for the position of a Kinosoo Operator - Combination Support (Term Position). This position is responsible for assisting in all outdoor operations of Kinosoo Ridge Resort. These responsibilities include conducting grounds maintenance, snowmaking, responding to emergency situations, and answering or directing guest inquiries. This position requires frequent public interaction and demands a high level of presentability, professionalism, attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with preventative and required maintenance and operation of all hill fixtures including aerial adventure park, surfaces, signage, lifts, and lift maintenance equipment to ensure safe uninterrupted operation.
- Assist in snowmaking and grooming.
- Assist with the leading, and training of seasonal staff.
- Assist with the planning and execution of site improvements including maintenance of grounds and buildings.
- Assist with the planning and setup for special events.
- Operate a variety of equipment including bobcats, tractors, snowcats, snow guns, snowmobiles, and ATVs in a safe and responsible manner.
- Understand all posted emergency procedures and protocols.
- Work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Recognize, document, and report hazards current or potential to the Kinosoo Operator Lead and Kinosoo Operations Coordinator and assist in hazard removal/correction as required.
- Conduct regular grass mowing and snow removal as required.
- Perform other related duties within the scope of the position as required.
Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Ability to operate equipment which may include bobcat, tractor, snow cat, snow guns, side by side, snowmobile, stationary pumps, and surface carpet lifts and chairlifts.
- Practice the safe use of a variety of hand and power tools.
- Previous staff supervision experience will be considered an asset.
- Previous experience operating ski lift equipment will be considered an asset.
- Carpentry, plumbing, and electrical experience will be considered an asset.
- Mature, energetic, dependable, punctual, reliable, and self-motivated.
- Friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to remain calm, assess, and react effectively under stressful situations.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willing to cross-train in other areas.
- Ongoing commitment to safety.
- Confined space, fall arrest, ATV/UTV, first aid, and other related safety tickets will be considered an asset.
- Commit to a team environment and possess flexibility and self- discipline.
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license in good standing.
- Obtain a criminal record check.
