The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 invites applications for a full-time Labourer II. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of equipment to facilitate the construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, and rights-of-way within the M.D.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate roller and compactor to smooth and patch road surfaces.
- Operate other equipment, such as skid steer, loader, packer, etc.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
- Keep vehicles and equipment clean and in safe operating order.
- Follow all procedures for safe and efficient operation of equipment.
- Prepare equipment, work code, timecards, and pre-trip equipment inspection forms, including the posting of equipment hours, fuel, oil etc.
- Perform traffic control and flagging during road construction and maintenance.
- Collect traffic related data.
- Assess roadway conditions, reporting results to direct report.
- On call rotation and night shifts may be required.
- Perform all essential functions of manual labour and other related duties within the scope of the position.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferable.
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license in good standing.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work in a team environment or independently with minimal supervision.
- Must possess some basic mechanical skills.
- Must provide a Criminal Record Check with satisfactory results.
