Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keeps track of company documents (tickets, invoices, etc.).
  • Maintains accurate documentation to charge to clients.
  • Provides reception services (answering and directing incoming calls, taking messages, greeting and directing visitors).
  • Full accounting cycle bookkeeping duties.
  • Creates, prepares, revises and/or maintains various spreadsheets, lists and forms related to administrative functions as directed.
  • Sends emails and faxes, scans documents, and photocopies documents.
  • Filing.
  • Adheres to the Company’s policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates Progressive Industries core values in all internal and external interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in office software.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated individual with a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain accurate and organized documentation.
  • Must demonstrate a collaborative attitude in working with members of a team.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize with strong multi-tasking abilities with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and deadline restraints of different projects.
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is preferred.
  • Recognized clerical certificate or diploma (completed or in progress) or a minimum of 3 years’ experience performing administrative/clerical tasks is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year bookkeeping experience.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of Sage 50C.
  • Previous experience processing payroll.
  • Good (50+ wpm) typing speed and accuracy.
  • Previous Telecom Construction industry experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications; intermediate skill level in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Working Conditions:

  • Office setting (indoors). Monday-Friday
  • Required to work alone, and as part of a group

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and move weights of at least 20. lbs.
  • May be required to sit for extended periods at a time (8 hours).
  • May be required to use a computer and keyboard for extended periods at a time.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, squat, and climb
