ABOUT THE POSITION
Portage College has an exciting new opportunity for an Production Liaison and Admin Assistant. The Production Liaison and Admin Assistant is responsible for working alongside the Audio Visual Technician in preparing and executing Corporate events, College community initiatives, partner engagements and athletics events. This role ensures flawless executed events through accurate and timely administration and planning. The incumbent will contribute to the planning of events, and productions. They will facilitate work orders, contractors, production needs and audio video logistics. Able to work efficiently with individuals and groups on administering technical support needs and planning for all audio/video production stages. Responsibilities include:

  • Events: Support and coordinate video production and event streaming, including planning schedules and traveling to campuses for recordings. Recruit, supervise, and coordinate volunteers, crew members, and talent. Manage external production needs for onsite events.
  • Administration: Maintain detailed inventory of equipment and software, estimate and negotiate contractor budgets, source supplies, and handle work orders. Secure permits, manage image and location releases, and ensure proper cataloging of media assets. Oversee the Production Studio’s scheduling, cleaning, and inventory management.
  • Communication: Develop and execute marketing plans for corporate events, create and update marketing materials (posters, social media posts) using Adobe Creative Suite, and proofread all written and visual media communications.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A diploma in office administration, communications, video, film, radio, computer sciences, advertising or information technology.
  • Successful candidate must have experience in an office environment. Experience in communications or technical experience with a preference in new media skills, or event planning is preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of, and experience using office and video equipment.
  • Experience in budget tracking.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Successful candidate must have excellent organizational and file management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a creative thinker, collaborative team member, and independent worker.
  • Successful candidate must hold Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Successful candidate will be required to provide a current police information check.
