Registered Pharmacy Technician - Term

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our Bonnyville, AB location at Tellier Guardian Pharmacy.

Job Description:

The Registered Pharmacy Technician will provide excellence in patient-centred care by ensuring patient safety through the accuracy and quality of product preparation and release. You will collaborate with the pharmacists in the promotion of wellness, disease prevention, and chronic disease management.

• This is a 1-year term position with the possibility of an extension.
• 24 to 31 hours per week.
• The usual shifts will be Wednesdays & Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 pm. and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• This position will work 1-weekend shift per month.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and transcribe verbal prescriptions from practitioners.
• Ensure that a prescription is complete and authentic.
• Transfer prescriptions to and receive prescriptions from other pharmacies.
• Prepare and process prescriptions by performing duties such as entering orders, counting, measuring, compounding, packaging, or repackaging medications.
• Methadone dosing preparation.
• Perform the final check of a prepared prescription.
• Ensure the accuracy of drug and personal health information in patient records, while maintaining patient confidentiality and following legal/regulatory conditions.
• Oversee Pharmacy Assistants to ensure efficient and safe prescription filling.
• Other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Licenced and in good standing with The Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
• Previous retail pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Kroll software experience is an asset.
• Above average oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team
• Excellent customer service skills

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift
• Day shift
• Morning shift
• Afternoon shift
• Wednesday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
