About the Opportunity



We are looking for someone to join our Finance and Risk team for a 12-month contract as a Risk Management Support.



The Risk Management Support will be a key member of the team responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of the Enterprise Risk Management framework, evaluating current and emerging risks and supporting control assessments. This position will address operational risks by assisting with the management of the company contracts, ICAAP, insurance programs and third-party internal audits.



More specifically, some of your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Assist in developing and implementing the Enterprise Risk Management framework, policies, and procedures ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory guidelines.

  • Support the development of key risk and performance indicators and metrics to assess and adequately measure and quantify risk.

  • Maintain risk register, related documentation and prepare and deliver risk reports to management and Board.

  • Under the direction of the Manager, Finance and Risk, identify and analyze trends, problem areas and emerging risks, and in collaboration with risk owners, determine an estimate of risk to credit union assets, operating results, and reputation

  • Provide input on risk best practices into a variety of operational (banking floor) policies and procedures (i.e., robbery, fire, requirements to pay, etc.), and operational guidance to staff.

  • Collaborate with internal members to assess for effectiveness, thoroughness, accuracy, and compliance with operational (banking floor) policies, procedures, and legislation.

  • Identify trends and breakdowns in controls and opportunities to improve existing policies, procedures, process, and risk management techniques.


 


More About You



In order to qualify for this role, you will need a minimum of three years’ retail banking experience with a minimum of one year experience in risk management, internal controls, or audit. While not required, a diploma in Business Administration (or related studies) would be an asset.
