S2425-31 Educational Assistant - Bonnyville Centralized High School


We are seeking a full-time (1.0 fte) Educational Assistant for the 2024-2025 school year. The assignment involves assisting one-on-one and in a classroom setting with student educational program needs, including social skills, behavior skills, self help and personal care needs.


Bonnyville Centralized High School is located in the Town of Bonnyville with approximately 300 students in Grades 9-12.BCHS is the first choice for high school education in our community as a result of their commitment to excellence in learning, the provision of opportunities for personal, educational, and civic growth, continuous professional development and growth as a staff, and a commitment to ensure each student receives the best possible nurturing and teaching we are capable of giving.


Preference will be given to applicants who have :



  • Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant

  • Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies

  • Experience working one-on-one and/or in a classroom setting

  • Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers

  • Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies

  • Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans



Training and skills that would be an asset include:



  • Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing and/or rehabilitation

  • SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
