Position Summary:
This seasonal, full-time role offers hands-on work with modern agriculture equipment. The primary responsibility is driving and operating a floater truck for custom fertilizer applications, with additional support tasks around the warehouse and fertilizer blending facility. Ideal for individuals with farm or large machinery experience or postsecondary students in an agriculture program. Position runs from May 1 - July 31, 2025, with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate GPS-equipped floater truck for custom fertilizer applications
Perform vehicle inspections and basic maintenance on equipment
Assist with loading/unloading seed, chemicals, and fertilizer
Support fleet, warehouse, and site maintenance, including fertilizer blending and warehouse tasks between floater jobs
Work collaboratively and prioritize safety
Schedule:
May-June: Monday-Sunday, 12-16 hour shifts during peak season
Regular hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM outside of peak season
Compensation:
Starting at $24/hour, with higher pay for experience
Overtime after 8 hrs/day or 44 hrs/week at 1.5x rate
Qualifications:
Experience with farm or large machinery; forklift or warehouse skills an asset
Mechanical aptitude is beneficial
Ideally suited for students in an agriculture program, though not required
Strong communication, attention to detail, and safety focus
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Valid driverβs license required; training provided
