Seasonal Garden Centre Clerk - Home Centre

Lakeland Co-op is currently seeking a Seasonal GARDEN CENTRE SALES CLERK for our Home Centre at 5411 Eastpointe Way, Bonnyville, Alberta. This is a Temporary position from April to August.

We’ve been working to build our community since our association was established in 1984. The Lakeland Co-op Home Centre opened in 2016.

What you’ll do:
We are looking for Garden Centre Sales Clerk with knowledge of and experience working with plants and plant products in a retail environment, a desire to provide excellent customer service, and a willingness to share their creative talents.

Our Garden Centre Sales Clerk will:

• Establish great rapport with customers and provide exemplary service in all capacities
• Nurture and preserve plant quality and health at all stages of the growth process
• Utilize a high attention to detail in maintaining and developing the Garden Centre environment
• Share expertise and creativity in plants and plant products when guiding customers and assisting them with garden and yard design
• Assist with inventory control, product merchandising, order receiving, department organization, and a variety of other tasks as assigned
• Efficiently and accurately record all transactions on the POS system
• Represent Lakeland Co-op in a professional and positive manner

Who you are:
We are seeking candidates with the following preferred qualifications:

• Experience working with plants and plant products, preferably in a retail setting
• A love of working outdoors, with the ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and to stand for long periods of time
• Very strong intrapersonal and customer services skills
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision
• Honest and trustworthy, results-oriented and striving to be the best in what you do
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends as needed
• Acceptance of Lakeland Co-op’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
• Must be able to provide a Criminal Record Check and pass a Drug & Alcohol Screening.
