Position Overview:
As an experienced senior accountant at Absolute Multi Corp, you will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the company. You will oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all transactions, while also staying ahead of emerging trends in business management. Your keen eye for detail, paired with a commitment to provide accurate financial reports, will help drive the continued success of our organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management: Oversee all aspects of financial record-keeping, including maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts, and preparing journal entries. Including maintaining property and equipment records, including depreciation schedules. Monitor/maintain intercompany transactions.
  • Payroll: Review and process bi-weekly payroll. Administer and the benefit program including maintaining the hour tracking for field benefits.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee the AP/AR team and manage and reconcile all vendor and client accounts, ensuring timely and accurate payments and receipts.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements. Completion of the annual review file for the accountants.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist with GST and payroll tax filings and ensure adherence to federal, provincial, and local regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in financial systems and workflows, and proactively implement best practices, tools, and technologies to enhance business operations.
  • Collaboration: Lead, support and mentor the accounting team by providing guidance, and training. Work closely with external accountants to complete annual review.
  • Business Insights: Leverage your financial expertise to provide valuable insights that help guide business decisions, contributing to the company’s overall strategy and growth.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience & Expertise: 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, with a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and business management. Proven experience in oil field and trucking would be an asset.
  • Education: Preference of a bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting or related field.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with Fullbay would be an asset.
  • Accuracy & Detail-Oriented: A high level of attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies and potential issues before they arise.
  • Innovative Mindset: A proactive approach to staying ahead of industry trends, implementing cutting-edge solutions, and driving operational efficiency.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
