POSITION: Skilled Labourer/Rock Truck Driver
START DATE: ASAP
PROJECT LOCATION: Northern / Eastern Alberta
SHIFT: 14/7
Responsibilities:
- Performs all tasks of general, physical labor such as: shovel, rake, general housekeeping, erect traffic control, snow fence or barricade systems and perform site cleanup as assigned by site supervisor.
- This is physical, outdoor work in a potentially dusty / noisy environment.
- Assists equipment operators to clean tracks and fuel/grease heavy equipment (dozer, hoe, grader, etc.). Operates plate tampers/jump jacks and hand tools.
- Performs spotting duties for equipment and trucks.
- Laborers MUST have good written and verbal English skills, be able to hear instructions and see work activities/hazards.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience in civil works construction an asset
- MUST be able to pass a Pre-Access Drug & Alcohol test and adhere to Drug & Alcohol Policy throughout employment.
- Has exemplary attendance and a willingness to adapt to job shift changes.
- Able to competently operate equipment in a safe, efficient manner.
- Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe procedures.
Preference will be given to those with the following VALID SAFETY CERTIFICATES:
*Mandatory training*
- Pre-employment alcohol and drug testing, and medical, audiogram
- CSTS2020
- WHMIS2015
- 1st aid
- H2S Alive
- TDG
- ABCGA Ground Disturbance Level 2 or 201 standard
- Class 5 drivers licence (provide drivers abstract)
