Structural Shop Lead Hand

Bonnyville Welding Ltd. has an immediate opening for a Structural Fabrication Leadhand. This is a leadership role with hands on time for Structural Steel fabrication. Responsible for providing leadership in the shop to complete work assignments in a safe, orderly and productive manner as the project management team dictates.

This position is for a local candidate ONLY such as Cold Lake, Bonnyville, or St. Paul as it is based out of our Bonnyville shop. The shift is a 5 on 2 off schedule. However, subject to change based on project demands.
Duties:

• Interpret drawings, sketches, cut sheets etc. for layout and assembly for platforms, supports, pipe shoes.
• Prep materials
• Complete fit ups, tacking and welding
• Perform general repairs

Requirements:

• Proven Journeyperson status (Welder or Structural Steel Fitter preferred)
• CWB Certified for SMAW, FCAW, GMAW
• Overhead Crane and forklift tickets preferred but not mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years fabrication or related construction experience
• Ability to read and understand sketches, Cut Sheets, Assembly and Fabrication drawings
• Lead crew and oversee daily work
• Conduct daily tailgate meetings
• Work with minimal supervision
