Support Worker’s are responsible for supporting and supervising clients outside of the Centre’s office hours, in addition to general housekeeping duties and regular facility checks. Interaction with clients is required, an ideal candidate would be outgoing, have strong communication, and be confident in conflict resolution. This position is a 7/3, 7/4 shift, shifts are either 12 or 8 hours in length and run afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of alcohol and drug abuse treatment methodology is an asset.
Ability to work with little or no supervision.
Must have knowledge of indigenous history and culture.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Good organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other software programs.
Learn and follow all safe work procedures for your job position.
Must have experience in meal preparation and housekeeping.
Team player and work in cooperation with coworkers.
Must be willing to work shift work.
Valid Drivers License.
Assist Training, Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training and Medication Dispensing training, WHIMIS Certification, First Aid Certification an asset, willing to train if needed.
Must be able to provide a Criminal Records Check, Driver’s Abstract, and Driver’s License.
Will be required to sign an oath of Confidentiality.
