Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position:

C2526-03 Kindergarten Teacher, Cold Lake Elementary School

This is a full-time (1.0 fte) temporary position commencing at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The school is seeking a dedicated and caring Kindergarten Teacher who will work collaboratively with the school community to create a welcoming and engaging learning environment where all students learn and excel. Cold Lake Elementary School is located in the City of Cold Lake with approximately 360 students in ECS to Grade 3. CLES is a safe and caring school which promotes morals and values through our Moral Intelligence program and seeks to initiate learning experiences for students that are challenging and meaningful. 

Reporting directly to the principal, the successful candidates will:

• Lead children in activities to stimulate and develop their intellectual, physical and emotional growth and ensure their security and well-being
• Ensure effective planning, instruction and assessment for students
• Develop and nurture a positive, supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Create the classroom conditions for students to achieve the outcomes as outlined in the Alberta Curriculum
• Interact positively and effectively with a diverse student and parent population
• Work collaboratively as a member of a professional learning community
• Nurture strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the school community
  

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
• Previous experience teaching the assigned courses/subjects is an asset
• Previous experience at the Primary and/or Kindergarten level would be an asset
• Education in Early Childhood Development would be an asset
• The ability to achieve Alberta Education's Teaching Quality Standards
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to lifelong learning and professional improvement
