Required Immediately! SLS Metalworks & Fabricating is currently recruiting for a Certified Welding Inspector CWB Level 2 to join our growing team. We’re looking for a hardworking professional who enjoys meeting challenges and surpassing customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have 10 years experience in QA/QC. Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete routine generated work order requests for repairs and services.
Maintain constant communication between all Company Departments, Third Parties and Customer/Clients.
Attend toolbox talks and safety meetings as scheduled.
Follow all obligations to refuse unsafe work and to report all unsafe and near miss conditions immediately.
Actively participate in the shop safety program and maintain strict adherence to OH&S guidelines.
Perform duties as they may arise that would fulfill the mandate of providing complete facilities operations and maintenance.
Meet/exceed turn over/mud book time lines as required.
Other duties may be assigned/required by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Certified Welding Inspector CWB Level 2;
Certified Welding Examiner; and asset but not required.
Journeyman Welder or Journeyman Pipefitter;
Welding Supervisor Certified;
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License;
Highly developed organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal;
Minimum 10 year’ experience;
Experienced in PC operating systems; Excel, Word, Bluebeam.
Experience with Hydrostatic Testing, MTR reviews, Building job specific Inspection and Test Plans, Turnovers, and all required company and clients specific forms and documentation.
Familiar with Quality Manuals and following all procedures and documentation.
Be adaptable to change.
Experience working on construction sites and with power tools.
Knowledge of construction site best practices and safety procedures.
Ability to travel to job sites including ability to work after hours and weekend when required.
Excellent Problem-Solving Skills and ability to work independently or team setting.
Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce.
Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks and sensitive to issues of confidentiality and compliance.
Proven ability to react appropriately in emergency situations.
Ability to complete all work in compliance with Alberta legislation, regulations and site policies and procedures.
Conduct all activities and execute all duties with enthusiasm and a positive, results- focused attitude.
Being able to assist. train and mentor.
Support company initiatives and policies enthusiastically in a team environment.
Proven ability to work in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety guidelines;
Must be physically fit, position involves extensive walking, climbing and awkward positions as well as carrying of heavy materials. Ensure Personal Protect Equipment (PPE) is used as required.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Comprehensive Drug, Alcohol, Audiometric, and Physical Abilities pre-employment tests;
Welding Certificates;
Leadership for Safety Excellence as asset;
Class 5 License with an approved driver’s abstract (obtained within 30 days);
Willingness to remain clean shaven;
