Job Purpose
The Lead Corporate Safety Advisor promotes ensures a companyβs health and safety policies are thorough, efficient, and compliant with local, regional, and industry guidelines and regulations. They review production and other activities, and work with employees to decrease risks and sustain and promote an Injury Free workplace.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote safety programs and keep accurate records of the progress.
- Coordinate safe work practices that correspond with OH&S requirements to management and workers
- Implement preventive measure and recommend improvement on any unsafe conditions/material/equipment.
- Encourage safe work practices that enable accident and injury prevention.
- Participate in incident investigations. Track events, corrective actions and verify follow up.
- Monitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in safety regulations, laws or reporting requirements.
- Share learning from investigations with other employees that may prevent further occurrences.
- Contribute to emergency planning.
- Assist with training that is required for specific duties.
- Organize and keep the Company Safety Matrix updated.
- Manage HSE and ISN, Complyworks, Avetta accounts for owner clients.
- Keep a record of all safety statistics within the company.
- Identify trends and establish training material for correcting unsafe behaviors.
- Organize Third Party safety statistics and request and review Pre-Qualification documentation.
- Manager and support COR Certification and Audits.
- Continuously update and build Safety programs upon expansion of the company. Manage revisions.
- Keep All Company Safety Manuals updated.
- Attend Quarterly meetings with Client to provide Safety statistics and goals
- Participate in Site Observations and Audits
- Complete yearly hazard assessment and action plan.
- Assist Site Supervisors and Safety advisors with injury case management
- Work with the Human Resources department with regards to employees on Short & Long Term Disability.
- Responsible for all Workers Compensation Administration. Work with WCB on any/all WCB claims and assist with the employees' return to work plan.
- Other duties as required/assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma and OH & S and/or NCSO Designation.
- Must have a minimum 10 years of NCSO Safety Advisor. Experience in safety, environmental, or health management and compliance. Knowledgeable in oil and gas operations is an asset.
- Possess a high level of technical expertise, ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum levels of safety.
- Effective verbal, written, computer skills and knowledge of relevant software. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Site docs.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

- Problem solver with the ability to identify alternative solutions.
- Self-starter and highly motivated.
- Must be sensitive and able to keep employee information
- Must have a minimum Class 5 Drivers License with a clean Drivers Abstract.
- Participate in any additional training as deemed necessary to our work
- H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, H2S, CSE, WHMIS & CSTS 2020, LSE current.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
- Travel will be required to other company locations
- Work standard hours, but overtime may be required during peak business periods.
- Outdoors, at heights; confined spaces; dangerous; wet/damp; noisy; odors; and extreme temperatures.
- Sitting for long periods of time in an office environment.
- Being on call when work is taking place on the weekends.
- Respond to safety incidents after hours without notice
