Baker Tilly RSG LLP is currently looking for a full-time, permanent Accounting Manager to join our Cold Lake team.

The Accounting Manager provides advisory services to corporate and individual clients including business and tax consulting and preparation of financial information and tax returns for private enterprises, not for profits and individuals. The incumbent will manage and mentor senior team members while allocating work and leading efficiencies within the firm.

 Key responsibilities include:

• Plan, supervise and execute compilation, review and audit engagements including preparation of financial statements and applicable tax returns.
• Prepare personal income tax returns and related schedules
• Provide client advisory services such as analyzing financial information, accounting processes and operational procedures and providing feedback, tax and estate planning opportunities to clients.
• Manage projects, budgets, and work in progress and billings for the team.
• Respond to client and team inquiries and concerns.
• Establish and maintain client relationships while developing new client leads.
• Mentor team members with engagement and tax planning issues and scenarios.
• Assist in developing and managing various engagement reporting and filing deadlines as well as firm processes and policies.
• Develop new client leads and relationships through community involvement and networking.

Qualifications:

• CPA designation with a minimum of 5 years of experience in public practice post- designation.
• Strong understanding of accounting and tax fundamentals.
• Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent leadership skills
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively to resolve issues and close sales.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Proficient in computer applications such as Caseware, Microsoft 365, TaxPrep, Xero, QBO and other relevant software.

 Setting:

At Baker Tilly RSG LLP, we pride ourselves on our progressive and forward-thinking practices, employing a digital workflow that facilities working seamlessly across locations.  The Accounting Manager will be required to work in an office environment with the option for some remote flexibility.  The incumbent may be required to travel occasionally for training and meetings.
