The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 invites applications for the position of Team Lead II, Parks & Recreation. The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Parks & Recreation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with all parks and recreation programming and service needs.
- Schedule, train, and supervise full-time and seasonal staff.
- Coordinate staff and monitor all maintenance in M.D. parks and campgrounds, including but not limited to signage, grass cutting, garbage collection, picnic table assembly/repairs, etc.
- Facilitate and supervise the installation, repairs, and removal of boat docks.
- Coordinate the maintenance of M.D. baseball diamonds, rinks, and playgrounds.
- Coordinate the maintenance, inspections (CVIPS) and repairs of all vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain the inventory of all equipment, supplies and assets associated with the Parks & Recreation department.
- Respond to and correct deficiencies reported within municipal campgrounds and parks.
- Conduct weekly safety tailgate meetings.
- Ensure staff have proper PPE for the daily tasks assigned.
- Review and sign off on all safety related documents submitted by staff (vehicle inspections, Site Hazard Inspections, incident and near miss reports).
- Review and approve staff time entries and leave requests.
- Review general correspondence with contractors and consultants on capital projects.
- Ensure the competency of all staff prior to commencing their duties.
- Facilitate or perform daily/weekly/monthly inspections for M.D. campgrounds, playgrounds, trails, ball diamonds, boat launches, equipment, and outdoor rinks and others as required.
- Perform other duties within the scope of the position as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of four (4) yearsβ working experience in Parks & Recreation.
- A degree or technical diploma in the Parks & Recreation field will be considered an asset.
- Strong leadership skills are essential and will be considered an asset.
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience will be considered an asset.
- Carpentry/Mechanical experience will be considered an asset.
- Ability to work as part of a team or with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills in all Microsoft Office programs.
- Hold a valid Class 5 driverβs license in good standing.
