Driven Resources is currently seeking professional Hydrovac Swampers to join their dynamic team.
Job description: This project role is responsible for the safe operation of a Hydrovac by using pressurized water and a vacuum system to quickly, safely, and precisely expose around utilities, pipelines, etc. Other duties required include:

  • Operate all equipment in a safe and professional manner
  • Knowledge of the blower operations and safe temperatures
  • Knowledge of the boom controls (manual and remote)
  • Knowledge of the boiler system (fire up, cool down)
  • Knowledge of winterizing and de-winterizing
  • Thorough understanding of piggy backing procedures
  • Vacuum breaker functions/ Remote control functions
  • Understand Load levels
  • Ensure customer and client satisfaction by providing excellent customer service at all times
  • Wand control
  • Responsible for the successful completion of hydro excavation projects including: utility line exposure, pipeline exposure, debris removal, slot trenching, and digging
  • Diesel flushing the blower
  • Digging 45 degree angle holes & pot holes
  • Grease Points
  • Monitor oil in crank case, site glass on wash pump & on hydraulic tank & blower
  • Maintain all equipment & tools to a high standard
  • Complete pre trip/post trip on dog house & unit
  • Execute tasks in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Driven's policies and procedures
  • Obeying all traffic & client site rules at all times
  • Proper usage/storage of Bonding Mats with a thorough understanding of grounding & bonding
  • Maintain clean fleet equipment
  • Take direction/instructions from Hydrovac Operator and communicate thoroughly back and forth
  • Confirm with project Supervisor regarding the job plan/schedule to ensure that proper direction is received and carried out
  • Complete all documentation: including but not limited to daily tickets, log books, safety documentation
  • Work with other field personnel and customer personnel as required
  • Act in a courteous, professional manner in order to present a positive company image
  • Participate in tool box talks, FLRA’s (field level hazard assessments) and daily safety meetings
  • Ask questions, and not to undertake a task if you are not competent to perform
  • Ability to work independently and be an effective team player who contributes positively to the end goals of the team while maintaining excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ensure all Hydrovac truck equipment and components are in good working condition at all times
  • Report any inefficiency to Supervisor
  • Ability to follow directions and express ideas clearly in writing, and verbally
  • Maintain and use appropriate PPE
  • Any other duties as assigned
  • Flexible work schedule to accommodate business needs
  • Ability to work out of town & stay in camp (Conklin area)

Minimum Qualifications
Valid Class 5 license with clean driver's abstract
Min 1+ years operating Hydrovac/High Pressure/Vac truck in Oil & Gas/pipeline industry
Demonstrated mechanical ability
Required to pass pre-employment screening for drug and alcohol testing
